How To Apply Positive Thinking

Positive thinking requires that you focus on the positive and not waste a lot of time on things that don’t work out. In this article I’ll explain how to apply positive thinking so that you enjoy greater success, feel happy, more confident and optimistic.
Do you know that over 90 percent of what you worry about never actually happens?  That sure is a lot of mental energy wasted on negative events.

The horrible outcomes we conjure up in our minds drain us mentally and physically.

We assume the worst and feel powerless to change it, but the truth is that we can change it, so you don’t have to focus on the negative.  You can learn how to apply positive thinking to our everyday lives and reduce the number of worry or negative thoughts dramatically.

How To Apply Positive Thinking: Some Simple Steps

If you let your body get out of shape, what would you do to get it back into shape?

You’d probably start exercising and training it to get firm and lean.

In the same way, if you let your mind get out of shape by forming the habit of negative thinking, you must re-train your brain or mind  so that you constantly apply positive thinking.

Just like physical exercise takes time, commitment, and effort, so does the mental exercise that you need to practice to reap the benefits of positive thinking.

Here’s how to apply positive thinking by working with some simple exercises:

Positive self-talk. You talk to yourself with your thoughts and spoken words all the time.  You’d be surprised at how much of that talk is negative.  Monitor your thoughts and words to see how you measure up and focus on decreasing negative self-talk and increasing positive self-talk.  Look in the mirror and speak positive things about your life, declare your desires as you drive to work, and meditate on positive thoughts.  Applying positive thinking to your life this way works wonders for your mindset.

Use creativity to make a vision board. Get a poster board or cork board and fill it up with all of your dreams, desires, and goals.  Grab a bunch of magazines and get to cutting out your dream home, your model partner, the career you want, exotic vacations, car, and so on. Dream big!  As you create your vision board, you’re applying positive thinking to your life in many ways.  You’re seeing your success and probably even feeling happier as you continue doing the exercise. Keep your dream board in a spot that you can see often so that you’ll continue to think positive about your dream life.

Practice the attitude of gratitude. Grateful people tend to live happier, more positive lives. Each morning and each evening, simply say thank you for everything that you’re grateful for.  You might not have everything you want, but I’m sure you have many things to be grateful for. As you say thank you, you’re applying positive thinking to your life, which can become a remarkable habit that will end up changing your perspective.  This is an easy way to change your mindset from negative to positive.

Take these tips on how to apply positive thinking to your life and run with them. Keep applying these positive thinking techniques everyday.

It doesn’t take long to retrain your brain to go from a negative mindset to a positive one. It simply takes consistency and a desire.  Engage in positive self-talk, create a vision board, be grateful, and act as if your life is amazing.  It’s as simple as that. That’s how to apply positive thinking – it’s not about doing just one thing – you need to do a number of things repeatedly.
